##################################################################################### # 2020/04/29 - PsychOS486 0.0.7 - Knoppix 7.2.0 and Slackware helping TinyCore idea # ##################################################################################### Someone suggested to use 'Knoppix" because it had remastering tools. However, 'Knoppix 7.2.0', the latest i486 compatible version, does not have anything like that and though 'synaptic' (package manager) and 'apt-get' report "hits" on repositories, updates and adding new software doesn't actuallly work, even if you tell it to ignore key-related things; there are errors no matter what you do. By the way, who thought add 'compiz' to an i486-compatible distro was a good idea? Or something that run from RAM/CD-ROM/USB? Stupid... I know this sounds strange and it may not work that way I hope it will, but I may end-up installing TinyCore 11.1 AND Slackware 14.1 on the same computer, using Slackware to compile i486 packages when TinyCore's package manager falls short and then either figure out how to turn tgz's into tcz's or just extract the tgz's and add the files to the correct directories manually.
