################################################################# # 2020/07/08 - PsychOS486 1.3.4 - Committed to Slacko Pup 5.3.1 # ################################################################# So at this point, I am fairly committed to using Slacko Puppy 5.3.1 as the base for PsychOS486. By the time of this log, I have installed lots of software with maybe a few more to go and I am making up for the repository issues by including WINE with the plan to use it to add old Windows software that cannot be found for i486 GNU/Linux anymore or compiled from source. I know that this is not ideal, and I've already ran into DirectX-related issues and so, I'm forced to stick with SDL ones, but it is what it is. WINE versions to choose from are limited to 1.3 and 1.5, with both having DirectX issues. At least I have been able find software that will run such as QB64, OHRRPGCE, B-EM, and Brandy. I would have liked to include RetroArch but after the install, it would be too large as the ISO is already at around 500MB without adding the other mentioned Windows versions of software. [Update 2020/08/31]: I believe that the DirectX-related issues have been fixed as I dod not realize there were some more GNU/Linux related packages that needed to be installed to get it working. I also expanded and installed the devx developer tools with hopes to compile software from source, but I think the gcc version is just too old for most things.
