################################################################## # 2020/12/10 - PsychDOS 0.0.1 - Finding an easier way to do this # ################################################################## I may have to take my KolibriOS + DOSBox idea back. Things are still sluggish and the sound is crap. What I am going to try next is just to use DOSEMU on PsychOS486; the only reason I have not tried that anyway is because I am not as familiar with DOSEMU as I am with DOSBox. It is not like I do not have a newer computer to use DOSBox on, it is just that I want that one to be freed-up for research and the occasional "binge-watching" while I am doing this. Making distros and software is cool and all, but you also have to find ways to stay entertained and in the right place, mentally, for something you are voluntarily doing. So here is the current plan, install FreeDOS all across the hard drive. Then, use a GNU/Linux distro to shrink the FreeDOS partition and then create another partition with the remaining space. This remaining space will have PsychOS486. I would then symbolically link the FreeDOS partition to PsychOS486's "~/.dosemu/drive_c" directory. This way, when FreeDOS falls short on something, such as audio or some major file management issue, DOSEMU on PsychOS486 is there for support.
