####################################################################### # PsychOS 08/16/2016 - PsychOS 2.5.6 - Fixing applications menu items # ####################################################################### * Added w3m to the menu and learned that it will crash if there's no Internet connection * GNU Octave is in the wrong place in the menu - Need to look at Geany, Giggle, and SmartGit .desktop file * Look into changing the default power saving options and adding panel items in XFCE * License.tar.gz in root directory missing * Went ahead and changed some other .desktop files to put applications in the correct place. * Getting rid of Min web browser - It's lightweight, but it's not as fast or as feature-rich as Midori. * May need to add icons for added menu items in the future ** May have found a way to copy XFCE panel and power settings to the default build. * This didn't work - May be location of the folder [] /root/.config/[xfce4] is where it's located on the DVD [] I should probably just copy the entire .config folder to /root/ after adjusting settings * Keyboard shortcuts need to be added * I think this worked! * Is Google Drive & Dropbox installed? Menu placement? * !!! Python IDE menu items are missing. - idle and idle3 are installed * Replace XFCE Whiskermenu icon with the standard three lined bars found on mobile websites to represent "menu." - I noticed during a test, the tester could not find the menu to open applications. - Most people know the classic Windows start menu icon, but not the blue mouse that XFCE uses. - PsychOS 2.5.6 is still keeping the three bars a blue color. * Turns out that the /root/.config/ idea only works when Live; it could be a root vs. ~ issue. In other words, different username. * I found out that you can still sign into root at the login screen, even after a hard install of PsychOS. * I need to figure out where the default XFCE config files are kept pre-install.
