###################################################### # PsychOS 02/28/2016 - OpenSUSE Studio JeOS vs. GNOME # ###################################################### * I have made several builds so far using the JeOS version of OpenSUSE Studio, and each sucked. So, I've made a build with GNOME preloaded in hopes that I'll at least see something. I just hope that GNOME won't use too much RAM. * The build with GNOME seems to work. However, when trying to connect to the Internet wirelessly, wi needs to be installed. * XFCE seems to have been successfully installed. From CD, it's using ~200 MB of RAM. A hard install should be able to lower this. * Yast Settings Manager (Yast2) has a "release notes" section; I need to figure out how to add stuff to it. * Windows have no options to close, minimize, maximize, etc. (See PsychOS 2016:03:01) * Volume and brightness buttons work. !!! A default user other than "root" may need to be created; without doing so, there is no home folder. Building an installable version may avoid this issue since most installations create a user with a home folder. * There's no right-click for some reason * Screen saver works * Network is disabled; I can't figure out why. I need to check the OpenSUSE Studio appliance. Probably should go ahead and install wi to be safe. (Fixed; See PsychOS 2016:02:18)
