PsychOS is a systemd-free, GNU/Linux operating system based on Devuan ASCII but tailored towards retrophiles of all ages. It is packed with software and scripts for an easier, out-of-the-box user experience.
Currently, my main focus is PsychOS for
GNU/Linux on 32-bit computers as it seems that fewer and fewer
people seem to care; however, I'm not waiting until 20 years from
now when the next wave of "retrophilia" comes about to make
something "cool." So, the plan is to try to maintain a 32-bit
GNU/Linux-based operating system for as long as I can.
However, I think it would be neat to
make flavors of PsychOS using other operating systems such as
FreeDOS or KolibriOS. I would also like to take some of the
custom-made software and have versions of them made for 20+ year
old systems such as those made by Acorn, Atari, Amiga, Commodore,
and so forth, though of course they would be very limited by
comparison to their GNU/Linux counter-parts. It would be more or
less of a "share while I learn" sort of project. [More]
